Global Circuit Innovations, GCI, was recently awarded a Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) venture in the Fall of 2016.  This project was solicited by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) within Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAB), which expands funding opportunities to commercial/academic partnerships for federal research and development  (R&D).  Central to this program is the expansion of the public/private sector partnership to include the joint venture opportunities for small business and nonprofit research institutions.

GCI has chosen to collaborate with the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on the Phase I segment of the project titled "Increased High-Temperature Reliability for Die Extraction and Reassembly (DER) of Commercial Devices".  GCI is working directly with Dr. T.S. Kalkur, Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the UCCS College of Engineering and Applied Science.

Dr. Kalkur notes "It is great to work with  Global Circuit Innovations (GCI) to get involved in this area of research.  It brings opportunity to our faculty and students, while building the knowledge base in our community".

Typically, the University will also involve student research under the supervision of one or more faculty members.
